「お砂焼きまつり」に行ってきました。
お砂焼きとは、江戸時代に厳島神社の祭器を宮島の砂を入れて焼いたことから始まり、
神社の参拝者に縁起物として喜ばれたやきもののことです。
今では、対岸の宮島口にいくつか窯元が残り、素朴で日常で使いやすい器を作っています。
お祭りは毎年10月の第3日曜日に宮島口で開催されます。
オープニングは宮島太鼓。
賑やかなお囃子を始まりとしてステージでは、楽しい歌や踊りが次々と．．．。
メインは陶器市です。
器を見るのが楽しく、お安くなっているのでいつもより手に入れやすい良い機会です。
お砂焼きの実演もあり、子どもから大人まで手からするすると生まれてくるうつわに釘付けです。
他にも大野町の特産品販売や、宮島口の各店も特別な商品を出したり
ギャラリーとして展示をしたりと盛りだくさん。
今年の目的は「和菓子の手ひねり」。
300円で、ねりきり菓子を作らせてもらってその後食べることができるのです。
娘たちと挑戦しました。

初めてでしたが、きれいなお花ができてとても楽しかったです。
この後、朱色の菓子盆に置いて頂きました。
