２００９年６月５日「世界環境デー」にあわせeco活動がスタートしました。
パナソニック株式会社から¨CO2削減につながる
「宮島あかり交換活動」の提案に賛同し実現したものです。

厳島神社の社殿に灯る提灯や商店街に灯るひめあかりなどが
一斉に消費電力を８０％カットする電球型蛍光灯に変えられました。
宮島全体で取り組めば、年間３４．３トンのCO2削減になるそうです。

各家庭にも１つづつの電球型蛍光灯が配布されました。
海に浮かぶ宮島にとって長い将来地球温暖化は他人事ではありません。
これを機会に、あまりエコに興味のなかった方も少し意識が変わればいいですね。

電球型蛍光灯の配布の通達に、「電球交換の困難な高齢者等の世帯は
連絡していただければ取り付けに行きます。」と町の電気屋さんの連絡先が書いてありました。

我家は自力で交換できますが、この一言の配慮がとてもうれしかったです。
人に優しく、地球にやさしい宮島であってほしいです。
