本日（5月16日）フランスのモン・サン＝ミッシェルよりエリック・パニエ市長が来島されました。
我が廿日市市宮島町とモン・サン＝ミッシェルが観光友好都市連携することになり、
その調印式のためにいらっしゃったのです。
廿日市市長をはじめ宮島町民でお出迎えをしました。
エリック・パニエ市長はとても気さくな方で出迎えた私達に丁寧に握手で挨拶をしてくださいました。
エリック・パニエ市長の大きな手と優しい笑顔で一気に距離が縮まった気がしました。
モン・サン＝ミッシェルは干潟の中にある島に修道院が建っており千年以上の歴史があります。
上の画像は日仏修好150周年記念のポスターですが、海に浮かぶたたずまい・・・・
どちらも、とても幻想的です。また、世界文化遺産の地としての共通点も・・・・
この景色を見ていると、実物が見に行ってみたいな～なんて思います。いつか、きっと。
人と人、町と町が結びつくからこそ発展もし守り継がれるであろう。
これを機に、双方の今後の発展を期待します。
