研修生の作品の数々

思いを熱く語る広川氏

2009年3/17(火）、廿日市市地域提案型雇用促進事業
伝統的木工加工技術者（彫刻）要請訓練の終了式が宮島彫伝習所でありました。

6月～2月までの訓練期間で、伝統工芸士の広川和男先生の指導の下
2人の受講生がそれぞれ10枚程度の作品を作り、
江戸時代から続く宮島彫りの伝統的技法を学びました。

今回で2期生の卒業となったこの講座は＜しゃもじん＞という呼び名で親しまれ
あらゆるジャンルで数多くの講座が開かれた、この廿日市市の画期的な雇用促進事業!
しかし、事業そのものが3月いっぱいで終わってしまうのだそうです(-.-;)

それで、宮島彫りのしゃもじん研修生も、これが最後となりました。
失われつつある伝統的技術へと目を向けさせ、日を当ててくれる事業だったので
・・・・・少し残念な思いが残ります。

式の中でも　今現在かろうじて宮島で伝統的技術で作り続けられている宮島細工も
作り手それぞれあとを継ぐものが本当にいないこと、
そして職人たちにも、後継者を育てていく余裕がないことが語られました。
後継者育成の厳しさと、作り手不足による宮島細工の伸び悩み、
それでなくても消費社会で工芸品は贅沢品と思われる世の中です。
（だからこそ、作り手はよいものを長く使ってもらう為にがんばるのですが…）

世界には6000から7000もの言語があるとされていますが、そのうち20～50％、アイヌ語等も22世紀初頭までの間に話者を失って消滅すると予測されています。
文化や伝統も、人がいないと消えてしまうのが現実…
だからこそ私達は、守っていく努力をしていかないといけないのでしょうね。
私もジモティーとして応援していきたいと思います＾＾
