先日、地元宮島学園の児童生徒のみなさんが杓子づくりに来てくれました。
宮島学園（宮島小中学校）は今年度より小中一環教育となりました。
キャリア教育を基盤として「世界遺産宮島」の歴史・文化という視点から地域の伝統・文化を学ぶ独自の「地域伝統課」の授業です。
今回の杓子原材料は「みずき」という木でした。
まだまだ・・・一生懸命サンダーや紙やすりで杓子そのものの手ざわりにこだわる子！！
焼印のデザインにこだわる子！！
子供たちは一生懸命MY杓子を作りました。
どれも、オリジナルMY杓子です。出来上がった杓子を手にとてもうれしそうでした。
木のぬくもりのある杓子に愛着を感じてほしいな・・・っと思います。
この子は大鳥居が海に映っている所を表現しました！！
スゴイ！！芸術的センス！！
子供達の感想文より
杓子はカンナで削ると思っていましたが、紙やすりで削る事を初めて知りました。（Yちゃん）
自分でデザインを考えてこの世に一つしかない杓子ができました。焼印は難しかったけれど上手くできてよかったです。（S君）
手作業で作るのは大変な事だと思いました。でも、楽しかったです。（Ａ君）
宮島が発展するように、自分達が受け継いで伝えていきたい。貴重な体験ができました。（Hさん）
このように、子供達からたくさんの感想をいただきました。
体験した事でより宮島を知り、自分の住む町を好きになってほしいです。

先日は子供達がお世話になりました。
とてもいい経験になったようで、
今まで杓子が周りにあっても当たり前でピンとこなかったのに、帰ってくるなり杓子を誇らしそうに見せてくれました。
今も大事にしています。
制作の過程を知って、自分の手で関わることで、愛着や感心が深くなるんだと実感しました。
広島現代美術館で、「MYしゃもじを作ろう」というワークショップがあるみたいです。
杓子、私も作ってみたいです。
大人向けにも、じっくりと木を削って作れる会なんかがあれば面白いかもと思いました。
