宮島桟橋につくと左手に伝統産業会館があります。
神社や商店街とは逆方向になるため、なかなか目につきませんでした。
しかし、このほど廿日市市によりリニューアルされました。
平成20年4月19日（土）ついにリニューアルオープン！！パチパチパチ＼(^Ｏ^)／
外観はそう変わりませんが中は以前より明るくなり、なんといっても内容がグッと変わりました。
１階は宮島細工のギャラリー兼shopに！！(@_@) ２階はもみじまんじゅうの手焼き体験！！
３階は杓子づくり！！
・・・っと宮島を代表する産業の体験併用施設と生まれ変わりました。
ギャラリースペースには古くから受け継がれた伝統工芸士の作品の数々が展示してあります。
shop部分には宮島細工協同組合の組合員さんの品物がづらり・・・
どれも、大量生産はできない手づくりにこだわったものばかりです。
また、数少ない伝統工芸士や作家の作品を１度に見て購入できるのも、この施設の特徴です。
宮島伝統産業会館を拠点にものづくりの発信の場になって欲しいと願います。

手焼きもみじまんじゅうはGWを除く土、日です。時間はいづれも13時15時の2回で定員は１回40名です。１時間前に受付開始です。
これは6/1までの限定キャンペーンで、それ以外は今のところ１０名以上の団体のみ体験可能です。
