今は町家通りとして、宮島の人気通りの一つにもなっています。
その通りに「宮島伝習所」ができました。
伝統工芸士の作品・・・・・・・・大きなお盆の宮島彫りが目をひきます・・・・・・・( - ^-)ｼﾞｯ
そこは伝統的工芸品である、宮島細工（宮島彫り）の伝承の場です。
現在は島内、外から数名の生徒さんが月に数回伝統工芸士から直接宮島彫りの手ほどきを受けています。
生徒さんの中から、いづれ・・・宮島彫りの後継者となり伝統工芸の火を守りつづけていってほしいと思います。
古き良きもの、匠の技を残しつつ・・・・新たなる新風をおこしてください！！期待しています。
