宮島といえば杓子がピンときますが、宮島杓子のほかに宮島彫り、 ロクロ細工と
言った伝統工芸があります。
これをまとめて宮島細工といい、杓子、盆、器など木目の美しさを特徴としています。
古くから受け継がれた伝統と匠の技。これからも受け継いでいかなくてはなりません。
でも「 伝統工芸品 ＝ 生活 」 とはなかなか結びつかないですよね。
価格、用途、場所などの面から・・・現代のライフスタイルにフィットしないんですよね。
しかし、市場があってこそそれらの伝統工芸が受け継がれていくのだと思います。
古くからの伝統工芸の部分を残しつつ現代のニーズに合う新しい物も作り出して
いかなくてはいけません。 努力！
そこで、手軽にアートとして楽しんでもらえるよう考えだされたのがこのtry001です。
本来、ロクロ細工でつくられた盆などに宮島彫りを彫るのですが、ンションなどでも
飾って楽しめるよう一枚の絵感覚で作られました。
ｔｒｙ001と名づけられたのは、これからもっと新しい作品に挑戦していきたいと言う
思いがあります。
普段の生活にちょっとだけ上質なものを取り入れて、ゆとりある生活をしたいものです。
