１０月１５日は宮島にとっては特別な１日です。 そう・・・氏神祭です。
神社では舞楽奉奏があり、神前に菊の花が献花されます。（菊花祭）
町内では数日前よりしめ縄が飾られ、氏神祭ムードとなります。
当日も朝は幼稚園児の子供神輿、午後は宮島太鼓と獅子舞や、
町内の男衆の神輿でにぎわいます。
古いものがなくなってきている今、こうして島の人々が形は違っても
一つになれる。そして、自分達の氏神様に感謝の意をあらわす。
さすが、神の島！！歴史と文化を感じます。

Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”
